Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to again participate in the opening ceremony for this year's Field of Honor event in Georgetown. The Rotary Club of Georgetown produces this week long schedule of activities to commemorate Veteran's Day. A main feature is a field next to the Georgetown Rec Center set up with approximately 1500 US Flags.

See here for the event details. https://www.georg.../schedule/

This mission is a short procession and flag line for a portion of the opening ceremony.

Date/Time: Sunday, 10 November 2019. Event begins at 2 pm.

Staging Location: Williamson County Sheriff's Posse rodeo arena, 415 E Morrow St, Georgetown, TX 78627. We will stage in the parking lot immediately NE of the arena.

Timeline:
1:00 - 1:40 pm - Staging
1:40 pm - Briefing
1:50 pm - KSU for the short ride to the event field.

Wx: TBD

Notes: Fly your big flags. There are 27 historic US flags dating from the country's founding to today. WE NEED AT LEAST 27 RIDERS at this mission so that each of these 27 US flags can be carried by a rider to its position in front of the stage at the beginning of the event. We will stand at this flag line about 20 minutes until after the national anthem is performed.

Ride Captain: Mark Wells, , 512-470-0380
Flag Wrangler: N/A

There will be refreshments and other activities to enjoy as well. This will be an awesome event and a great way to kick off this year's Veteran's Day commemoration.

Nice going, Austin PGR, you came through and then some for today's Opening Ceremony at the Field of Honor in Georgetown. We had a rider to carry each of the 28 historic versions of the US Flag onto the field and a couple to spare. We had four new riders, which was great! Keith Longacre presented them with first mission pins.

The Wilco Sheriff's office provided an escort from our staging to our parking location prior to the flag line. The awesome Devil Dog flyover immediately preceded our arrival. Fort Hood brought a bunch of their heavy armament for a popular static display, as did the Georgetown Fire and Police Depts.

Thank you to to my wife Vicky and her friend Rose for securing our parking area. We were able to fit all the bikes in fine.

And thank you again to all who attended. If you weren't able to make it stop by during the week and check out the field. It's open 24 hrs until Sunday, 17 November.
