SSG Lee David Thompson II, 70, US Army (Ret), Vietnam vet, Elgin, TX, 15 JAN 2019

Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral service for SSG Lee David Thompson (Ret). SSG Thompson enlisted in the US Army in 1972 and served his country for 20 years, including in Vietnam. He retired in 1992.

Date/Time: Tuesday, 15 January 2019. Funeral service begins at 10 am.

Location: Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 TX-95, Elgin, TX 78621. We will stage at the funeral home.

8:50 - 9:20 am - Staging
9:20 am - Briefing
9:25 am - Flag line

Wx: 55 deg F, cloudy.

Notes: Bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend. This mission is a flag line only at the funeral home. After the start of the funeral service we will strike the flag line and depart quietly. Burial service will take place the same day at 2 pm at CTSVC in Killeen. Centex PGR will be in attendance.

A bit light on the flag line with three of us standing for SSG Thompson, but the family was thankful just the same.
Thank you Warren and Keith Alexander for honoring this veteran today.

Overcast and chilly, but no breeze to speak of which made it comfortable.

RIP SSG Thompson, thank you for your long and faithful service to our nation.
