Eight including myself stood in moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds to honor Mr. Billy Miller. That's a good turnout taking into consideration the inclement weather. Six in cages, one two wheeler, and one three wheeler. It was an easy call not to participate in the procession to the cemetery. Instead all but the RC reconvened at the cemetery to await the procession. The service lasted well past the projected time and following the service food was served to the family and friends in the church parish hall. That also went well past the projected time. Already close to an hour behind law enforcement arrived during heavy rain and informed I-35 was backed up several miles due to two separate vehicle accidents. An alternate route was developed that was going to delay the procession even more. The RC spoke with the family and with their blessing the mission was stood down once Mr. Miller was placed in the coach. Those waiting and staging at the cemetery were given the go ahead to stand down. My thanks to the seven who in spite of the weather and the delays gave of themselves to honor this career veteran.
