Clyde David Smith, 67, USMC veteran, Austin, TX, 22 SEP 2018

Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral service for Mr. Clyde David Smith. Mr. Smith served in the US Marine Corps and USMC Reserve from 1969 - 1976. He left the service as a Sergeant.

Date/Time: Saturday, 22 September 2018. Funeral service scheduled for 10 am

Location: Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 W William Cannon Dr, Austin, TX 78749. This is the Oak Hill Cook Walden location. We will stage at the funeral home.

8:55 9:25 am - Staging

9:30 am - Flag line

Wx: Hi 84 deg, thunderstorms, 90% rain chance

Notes: Bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend. Cage it if weather conditions are not MC friendly. At the start of the funeral service we will strike the flag line and, depending on weather conditions, we may relocate to the Haynie Flat Cemetery, 152 Hidden Springs Court, Spicewood, TX andl form a second flag line for the interment service. This will be the ride captain's call.

If anyone is interested, I will be at The Whataburger @ 6611 S. Mopac @ 8 AM before going the short 6 minute ride to the FH.

Although the day started out very rainy causing all but one of us to cage it, the rain stopped & the 7 of stood proudly for Marine Smith. His Wife & family chatted w us before hand & expressed how much it meant to have us there. Also showing up were 4 Leatherneck MC buddies of Sgt. Smith. Interment was not till 1 out in Spicewood, so after the start of the service we departed, with some of us going on to Georgetown for another flag line mission.
Thanks again to Nicki & Soup for flag wrangling. Prestaging flags at the entrance was very impressive.
