Thank you to the ten hardy souls who honored Mr. Bialaszewski on a hot South Austin afternoon. Luckily the appropriate place to stand the flag line at the church was shaded. Plenty of trees on the property to shelter during our funeral service down time also.

Soup and Nicki headed to the cemetery ahead of time, and five bikes accompanied the family from the church in the LEO escorted procession. The cemetery is about 40 miles south, but it took about an hour in the Friday afternoon IH-35 traffic. The three motorcycle officers did a commendable job facing down that monster.

An interesting semper gumby moment occurred as the procession approached the cemetery and found the only entrance gates closed. Someone scrambled to open them, and about the first 1/3 of the procession had to do an awkward u-turn in the middle of the hwy to get back to the entrance. We stood a second flag line for the interment service.

Many family members thanked us afterward, including his sister, who said she got goosebumps when she saw the flag line at the church.

Thank you to Soup and Nicki for another outstanding job with the flags and for providing the much needed cold drinking water.

God speed, SGT Bialaszewski, and may He bless your family left behind.
